About MeHi! My name is Tenny Stoutenburg and I will be teaching your child this year. I currently teach, Biology, Anatomy and Microbiology at Victor Senior High. As a mother to three girls, I enjoy learning more about my girls' teachers since they spend a great deal of time with them during the school year.
I am originally from Vernon, New York where I attended Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School. Upon graduating, I attended Nazareth College of Rochester and majored in Biology and minored in Pre-med. I originally planned on attending medical school, however, my father passed away my senior year and thus my plans for attending medical school were put on hold. Upon graduating, I accepted a position as a cardiovascular technician in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Strong Memorial Hospital. Although, I really enjoyed my job, I realized that the medical field was not where I belonged. I re-evaluated what was important to me and realized that helping to "shape" lives was important just like it was to help save lives. I had missed all of the "wonders" that science has to offer. I have always possessed a passion for science and wanted to share this passion with others. I am continually amazed at how science has the ability to bring out that curiosity and need for exploration that we are all born with. I decided to attend the University of Rochester to pursue my Masters in Secondary Science Education. In May 2004, I graduated from the University of Rochester and started working at Victor Central Schools. I am very grateful for my position at Victor, where I get to do something that I love. I currently live in Webster with my husband and our three daughters. As you can imagine life can be crazy at times with my three girls and my kids at school, but every day all of my "children" can expect me to give them my best. |
